From September to May, Galilee hosts Adult Forum after worship at 11 a.m. Speakers of interest from partner organizations or other experts from the Twin Cities join us to teach about ministry, or sometimes simply about interesting things they are involved in.
Galilee is blessed to have a full set of bells that need at least a dozen people to hear them all ring in one musical piece. Playing bells is fun! The bell choir plays in worship once per month, and goes to participate in an annual Bell Choir Festival with hundreds of other ringers from around the Twin Cities. Practice is on Wednesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.. There are enough bells to have more members. Consider trying it out. The Bells of Galilee meet on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m.
Bible Study is every Thursday at 11:00 a.m. rain or shine. This Bible Study group is the foundation of our church. You can bring a bible from home, or use one from off our shelf, and open up the Good Book and thus open up our hearts and souls to God’s life-giving Word for us today. The professor guides us through four passages in the Bible each Tuesday. There is a reading from the Hebrew Bible (such as the prophets or from the Torah) and a reading from one of the Letters (Epistles) in the New Testament as well as a Psalm and a Gospel reading. You are encouraged to bring a bag lunch if you’d like to stay even after the 12 o’clock noon church bells on the steeple have rung. You will be in good company.
Practices on Wednesdays from 7:15 until 8:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. If you love to sing, you will love choir. They sing special music in church during worship twice each month from September through May. (No experience necessary!)
On the third Thursday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., ladies gather to work on helpful service projects, enjoy entertainment, play Bunco, and enjoy each other’s company. Each meeting, two members host the lunch and before you know it, a delicious luncheon is happening!
Men’s Donut Group
This is a new and very popular ministry at Galilee. On Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. until about 11 a.m., “Men” (and women!) gather around a big table to eat the most delicious donuts in the Twin Cities (from Donut Hut in Little Canada) and drink endless cups of good coffee, and talk. This is a friendly, non-judgmental, non-competitive group of saints and sinners who share their stories about what’s new, and shoot the breeze, care about each other, and always will pull up an extra chair for anyone who wants to join them. This group is not meeting for the summer.
Young at Heart
Meets twice a month on Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. until 3 p.m. to have food, fun and fellowship. This is a group of mostly retired people, who enjoy playing card games, celebrating the holidays together, and having delicious, bountiful, potluck meals. Come join the fun, and bring a friend.
